Overview & Specifications
Price includes everything: the plant, free delivery and professional installation by our planting team. One price, whole job done.
Paradise Blush Camellia (Espalier) - Camellia sasanqua ‘Paradise Blush’
The Paradise series of sasanqua camellias was bred in New South Wales for Australian conditions, and ‘Paradise Blush’ is one of the softer-coloured selections, white petals carrying a pink flush toward the margins. Grown as an espalier, the plant is trained onto a flat plane so it delivers evergreen wall cover and an autumn flush of flower in a strip too narrow for a conventional hedge. Camellia sasanqua takes clipping well, which is what makes the trained form hold its shape.
Why Paradise Blush Camellia
Flower colour: White blooms edged and washed with pink, softer than the strong reds of the group and easier to place.
Ready-trained framework: The espalier structure is already formed, so wall cover starts on day one.
Dense evergreen cover: Small glossy leaves knit into a solid green surface that holds through winter.
Australian breeding: Selected in an Australian nursery programme with local climate performance in mind.
Clipping response: Tolerates regular light trimming after flowering without losing vigour.
Ideal Applications
Boundary fence dressing: Covers colorbond or timber fencing without pushing into the garden bed.
Narrow entry courtyards: Adds a flowering layer where planting depth is limited to a few hundred millimetres.
Pool surrounds: Evergreen and low-litter compared with deciduous wall plants.
Repeated wall panels: Set at regular intervals along a long wall for a rhythmic, formal effect.
Specimen & Installation
Spacing (screening/hedge): 1.5 to 2m for a continuous trained run
Spacing (feature/avenue): 2.5 to 3m for individual panels
Best Planting Season: Autumn, or early spring in cooler districts
Soil & Drainage: Acidic to neutral, rich in organic matter and freely draining. Avoid planting hard against a hot masonry wall with no soil depth, as reflected heat and dryness cause bud drop.
Establishment Care: Water deeply twice weekly through the first two summers and never let the root ball dry out while buds are forming in late summer. Mulch with composted bark, feed with an azalea and camellia fertiliser after flowering, and keep tying leaders to the frame.
