Overview & Specifications
Price includes everything: the plant, free delivery and professional installation by our planting team. One price, whole job done.
Lollipops Hibiscus - Hibiscus 'Lollipops'
'Lollipops' is a compact hybrid hibiscus bred from Hibiscus rosa-sinensis stock, carrying red flowers with a yellow centre on a bushy plant that stays around head height. Older tropical hibiscus tend to grow leggy and need constant cutting back; this one branches low and holds its shape, which is why it works in a designed bed rather than only in a backyard. Flowering runs through the warm months and each bloom is replaced daily.
Why Lollipops Hibiscus
Compact habit: Stays at 1 to 1.5m without the leggy, bare-legged growth typical of older hibiscus varieties.
Bicolour flower: Clear red petals with a contrasting yellow eye give the bloom definition from a distance.
Continuous display: Produces successive flowers across the warm season rather than one concentrated flush.
Heat performance: Thrives in full sun and humidity through Queensland and northern New South Wales summers.
Easy renewal: Responds to a light prune after the main flush by shooting back thick and flowering again.
Ideal Applications
Tropical border: Planted in drifts with cordylines, gingers and heliconias for layered colour.
Low informal hedge: Massed along a fence or path at close spacing for a flowering divider.
Resort and poolside planting: Delivers the tropical look near paving without dropping heavy litter.
Feature containers: Grown in large pots on decks and courtyards where it can be moved out of cold wind.
Specimen & Installation
Spacing (screening/hedge): 0.8 to 1.2m
Spacing (feature/avenue): 1.5 to 2m
