Overview & Specifications
Price includes everything: the plant, free delivery and professional installation by our planting team. One price, whole job done.
Petite Pink Frangipani - Plumeria ‘Petite Pink’
Standard frangipani eventually becomes a wide spreading tree that dominates a small garden. ‘Petite Pink’ is the dwarf alternative: a compact Plumeria with much shorter internodes and denser branching that settles at around 2m rather than 6m, while still producing the same fragrant pink flowers with a yellow throat through the warm months. It is the frangipani for a courtyard, a pot or a coastal front garden with limited space.
Why Petite Pink
Dwarf Scale: Short jointed growth keeps the plant at roughly a third the height of a standard frangipani, so it fits beside a path or a pool without crowding it.
Dense Branching: More branches per plant means more flowering tips and a fuller shape from a young age.
Fragrant Blooms: Pink flowers with a yellow throat carry the classic frangipani scent, strongest in the evening.
Salt and Wind Tolerance: Thick fleshy stems and leathery leaves handle exposed coastal conditions well.
Low Water Need: Once established it stores moisture in its stems and requires very little supplementary irrigation.
Ideal Applications
Courtyard Feature: A single plant as the focal point of a small paved garden where a full sized frangipani would overwhelm.
Poolside Planting: Minimal leaf litter in summer and non invasive roots make it a standard poolside choice in warm districts.
Large Containers: The compact habit and sparse root system suit long term pot culture on a sunny terrace.
Coastal Front Gardens: Well adapted to sandy soils and salt laden air in frost free beachside suburbs.
Specimen & Installation
Spacing (screening/hedge): 1.5 to 2m for an informal grouping
Spacing (feature/avenue): 2.5 to 3m
Best Planting Season: Late spring and summer, into warm dry soil
Soil & Drainage: Sharp drainage is essential; sandy or gravelly soil is ideal, and heavy clay must be mounded or replaced
Establishment Care: Water moderately through the first warm season, letting the soil dry between waterings, and cut water right back over winter because wet cold roots cause stem rot. Keep it in a frost free position with at least six hours of direct sun, and prune only lightly, cutting back to a branch junction in spring if shape needs correcting.
