Overview & Specifications
Price includes everything: the plant, free delivery and professional installation by our planting team. One price, whole job done.
Dwarf Pink Frangipani - Plumeria spp.
All the scent and the soft pink flower of a classic frangipani, on a plant that stays around head height. Dwarf forms of Plumeria branch far more freely and hold much shorter internodes than the standard tree, so they build a compact, densely twiggy crown instead of the wide open candelabra shape. That makes them the sensible choice for courtyards, pots and small poolside beds where a full-size frangipani would eventually take the whole space.
Why Dwarf Pink Frangipani
Compact Frame: Short internodes and heavy branching keep the plant dense and low without pruning.
Fragrance: Flowers carry the classic sweet frangipani scent, strongest in the evening through the warm months.
Flower Count: More branch tips means more flower heads on a small plant than a young standard tree would carry.
Drought Hardy: The fleshy stems store water, so it copes easily with hot dry summers once established.
Cold Sensitive: It needs a frost-free position, and in cooler districts it wants a warm north-facing wall or a pot that can be moved.
Ideal Applications
Poolside Feature: Its sculptural bare winter branches and summer flowers suit a paved pool surround.
Small Courtyards: Fits comfortably against a warm wall where the full-size species would overwhelm the space.
Large Pots: One of the best long-term container subjects in warm coastal gardens.
Coastal Gardens: Handles salt air and sandy soil in a sheltered, frost-free position.
Specimen & Installation
Spacing (screening/hedge): 2-2.5m when grouped
Spacing (feature/avenue): 3m
Best Planting Season: Late spring through summer, into warm soil
Soil & Drainage: Light, sandy and sharply drained. It will rot in heavy clay or in any bed that holds water in winter, so mound the planting where drainage is uncertain.
Establishment Care: Water moderately through the first warm season and then cut irrigation right back once the plant is dormant and leafless over winter. Mulch lightly with coarse material kept away from the trunk, and note that the milky sap is a skin irritant, so wear gloves for any pruning.
