The photo shows this species, not the individual plant reserved for you. Send us an enquiry and we usually reply within 1 business day with photos of the actual stock available in the size you want.
Request photosHow tall it arrives: 45L about 1.5 to 2.5m, 100L about 2.5 to 3.5m, 200L about 3 to 4.5m. Heights vary with species and season. How pot sizes work
Getting it in: the largest size here needs machine access rather than a doorway, and sometimes a lift over the roof. Measure the narrowest point on the route and tell us on the booking call. Standard access is included in the price, and anything unusual is quoted and agreed with you before work begins. What happens on installation day

Overview & Specifications
Price includes everything: the plant, free delivery and professional installation by our planting team. One price, whole job done.
Spineless Yucca - Yucca elephantipes
The spineless yucca is the architectural trunk plant for gardens that get no reliable water. Yucca elephantipes builds a swollen, elephant-footed base and a set of pale grey trunks topped with rosettes of long, arching, soft tipped leaves, reaching 4 to 6m in the ground over time. The soft leaf tips are the point of difference: unlike most yuccas, this one can be planted beside a path, a pool edge or a driveway without hazard.
Why Spineless Yucca
Soft Leaf Tips: No terminal spine, so it is safe in high traffic areas, around children and beside narrow paths.
Sculptural Trunks: Multi trunked specimens carry real presence, with the swollen base giving the plant its common name.
Drought Endurance: Once established it survives long dry periods on rainfall alone in most Australian coastal and inland districts.
Coastal Toughness: It handles salt laden wind and sandy soils that defeat most large feature plants.
Summer Flowering: Mature plants send up large panicles of pendulous creamy white bells above the foliage.
Ideal Applications
Feature Specimen: A large multi trunk plant as the single focal point in a gravel, courtyard or Mediterranean style garden.
Low Water Landscapes: The backbone of a xeriscape scheme alongside agave, aloe and ornamental grasses.
Coastal Front Gardens: Reliable in exposed beachside positions with sandy soil and salt spray.
Large Containers and Planters: Its slow growth and tolerance of root restriction suit substantial pots on terraces and rooftops.
Specimen & Installation
Spacing (screening/hedge): 2 to 2.5m for a staggered row
Spacing (feature/avenue): 3 to 4m so each trunk group is read on its own
Best Planting Season: Spring and summer, while soil is warm and drying out between waterings
Soil & Drainage: Sharp drainage is non negotiable; sandy or gravelly soil is ideal and heavy clay must be mounded or drained
Establishment Care: Water moderately for the first three to six months, letting the soil dry between waterings, then reduce to occasional deep soakings in extended dry spells. Keep mulch away from the trunk base to avoid collar rot, and site it out of frost hollows because hard frost damages the foliage.
